Lac Vieux Desert Health Center (LVDHC) is a growing, multidisciplinary health center located in beautiful Watersmeet, Michigan, in the heart of the Upper Peninsula’s Northwoods. Owned and operated by the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, LVDHC is open to everyone and provides compassionate, comprehensive care to the surrounding community.
Our team brings together primary care, physical therapy, chiropractic care, behavioral health, dental, pharmacy, optometry, podiatry, and wellness services—all with a strong focus on compassionate, coordinated care.
A New Era of Therapy & Wellness
Our new Legacy Wellness & Motion expansion is creating an exciting opportunity for physical therapists to be part of something special. This 10,000-square-foot wellness facility brings physical therapy, occupational and speech therapy, chiropractic care, massage, fitness, recovery, and wellness together under one roof. The goal is simple: help people move better, heal better, and build healthier lives.

Lac Vieux Desert Health Center is owned and operated by the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, whose community is rooted in the Watersmeet area of Michigan’s western Upper Peninsula. The Band’s history and connection to the land, culture, family, and community are an important part of who we are today.
For more than 25 years, Lac Vieux Desert Health Center has provided healthcare to the Northwoods community. In 2016, the Tribe opened its current state-of-the-art health center in Watersmeet, creating a modern, comprehensive healthcare facility that is open to everyone.
Today, LVDHC brings together medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, chiropractic, optical, podiatry, physical therapy, and wellness services under one roof. Our mission is to provide excellence in healthcare and inspire a culture of wellness.
With the addition of Legacy Wellness & Motion, we are continuing that vision—expanding opportunities for movement, rehabilitation, fitness, recovery, and whole-body wellness in the heart of the Northwoods.
